Ive noticed on UBUYONLINE an Austalian painting for sale of the old Customs Depot at Cossack in north West Australia probably utilised sometime in the 1800s.I painted that on site in 1980 from the dunes above Cossack.
Strangely while painting I looked down and there partly buried in the sand was a very worn and damaged British penny.As best I can read the date it is 1876 but the coin is pitted and dented along with the weather wear.We regarded it as lucky and helped us on the very rough and evenfull trip back to Melbourne.
